Class Blogs

Please share the link to your personal blogs using the stated format.

Housekeeping:



The following is a checklist of all the class requirements to date:

1.       View my blog at http://mscooperscorner3.blogspot.com/

2.       And answer question 1 – prior to watching the movie.

3.       Watch the movie “The great Debaters”.

4.       Respond to questions 2 and 3  posted on my blog.

5.       Have a functional gmail account. If you do not yet have one, then create it.

6.       Create your own blog, using blogspot.com. Remember you are required to add a minimum of three posts per week. 

7.       On my blog, find the post entitled Class Blogs and use the comment section to share your blog address. Use the format –Firstname; Lastname; Class; Time; Link.

8.       The first post for week one is a summary of “The Great Debaters”.

9.       Your other two post are open. Select something that you want to write about.

10.   Sign up for a new engrade account. Submit a copy of your summary online using Engrade.com’s turn-in feature. 

11.   Write an essay introducing yourself. Include personal details, your strengths, your weaknesses and class expectations. Submit your edited version to engrade.com using the turn-in feature

If you have done all that to date then you are off to a great start. For those who have not yet received their Engrade code, simply send end me an email notification and I will get it to you. Enjoy your weekend.

How to sign up for a new gmail account



The following video feature Richard Mathews explaining how to sign up for a new gmail account. His video is based on gmail for use in business and the audio is low but the steps are clear so for our purpose it can work. Remember all that we discussed in class about a professional email address. Enjoy!

Registering for your Engrade account

I am pleased to note that both sections of the class will be running this semester. All students who registered late will be receiving an email from me as soon as I receive complete enrollment documentation. 

On Wednesday January 16th 2013 we will be viewing the "The Great Debaters" 
Actors: Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker, Damien Leake, Gregory Nicotero, Brian Smiar .

Note that the run time for this movie is 124 minutes. We will begin promptly at 5:30 in order to accommodate both classes.

Please consider the following questions as you view the movie.  
1.      What do you think the Movie is about?(Respond prior to viewing)
2.      How does this movie relate to College English 11 and our Belizean Society?
3.      In your opinion what is the main purpose of this exercise?

Your responses are to be submitted as blog comments on this blog. (Questions will be re-posted individually- Respond under each)

You will also be required to write a brief summary of “The Great Debaters" that will be turned in via Engrade.com and posted on your personal blog.
